Businesses Clean Up After Storms

People across the state are still cleaning up from this weekend's storms.

In Lexington, several businesses experienced flood damage -- and by Monday, they were still cleaning up.

The Ramsey's restaurant on Harrodsburg Rd. was filled with five-feet of water at the height of the flooding. It will be closed for about two weeks while it's being cleaned out.

The High Street Childcare Center is closed Monday as workers clean up flood damage there.

Several stores in the Meadowthorpe Shopping Center on Leestown Road experienced flooding. At the Dollar General store in the center, managers were on hand Sunday, taking stock of the damage.

"It was rough," said Manager Pamela Brown, "we went ahead and got the tape measures and went through the store. On the sales floor it got up to a foot and in the store room it got a foot to two feet. There's a lot of damage. There's a lot of water damage back there."

Another store in the same shopping center, known as Pops, also flooded. Some items, including old records, were damaged by the water.
