Family of Lone Survivor Releases Information about His Health

Updated: Tue 9:08 AM, Feb 27, 2007

The family of the lone survivor releases new information on his health. In a statement released Monday afternoon, family members say James Polehinke continues to remember nothing about that day.

The family says Polehinke does remember his family and his dogs, but does not remember the crash.

They say, "we want to continue to express our most sincere and heartfelt thoughts and condolences to all of the families of the victims of this tragic accident."

"Their loss can never be restored, but they remain in our constant thoughts and prayers," Polehinke's family says.

The family goes on to say Polehinke continues to recover. He's still in the middle of many surgeries, including the amputation of his left leg.

They say he is awake more often than not, but still not completely lucid. The family says he is on course to begin rehabilitation after his surgeries are complete.

He tells the family he wants to go home soon.
