A man accused of beating a Carter County constable appears in court today.
Police say 23-year-old Johnny Puckett beat constable Elmer Kiser Wednesday night. Witnesses found Kiser in the middle of a road in Olive Hill.
Police say Kiser called in a report of a reckless driver shortly before the incident.
Kiser remains in critical condition.
