Federal authorities say a search warrant was executed today at the Fayette County jail in Lexington.
F-B-I spokesman David Beyer says agents were executing a search
warrant signed by a federal judge. Beyer says agents went to the
jail about eight o'clock this morning and were there
for five to six hours.
Beyer declined to say what the F-B-I was searching for or what
prompted the search because the warrant was sealed. F-B-I agents
sealed off part of the jail to secure the search area.
The U-S Attorney's office wouldn't release any details about the
investigation.
A message left with a jail spokesman wasn't immediately
returned.
