General showers will be the main action over the next few hours. A few could remain on the strong to severe side in eastern parts of Kentucky.
It's another sign that spring has sprung in the bluegrass. Keeneland's spring meet begins Friday.
There were 3,000 more people that came opening day this year than opening day for Spring Meet last year.
This year, there are some changes.
The price of admission is rising. It is now $5 for adults. There is also a $10 season pass available. Also, some areas will be designated as preferred parking. There is also a slight change to the normal schedule.
The first race will start at 1:05 p.m., five minutes earlier than previous meets.
Keeneland officials say they are making the change in conjunction with other tracks to stagger post times, which will mean more races.
Keeneland representatives were also bracing for some changes with the economy, with people possibly spending less money for bets.
