Comair Flight 5191 co-pilot James Polehinke underwent a surgical procedure on Wednesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
The surgery was to stabilize a spinal fracture.
The surgeon who performed the operation was Dr. Andrew Bernard. Dr. Bernard is a UK trauma surgeon.
Dr. Bernard said the procedure lasted several hours and went as planned.
At this time, doctors say Polehinke remains in serious condition.
