He's taking over a Central Kentucky police force rocked by controversy.
We first told you about the racial allegations surfacing in the Paris Police Department after an officer filed a complaint.
The new chief talked about how he plans to fix the force.

Chief Tim Gray wants to unify officers and those in the community, but he realizes the job will be difficult one. In the last eight weeks, a lot of suspicion has been hanging around.

"We've been through a lot there's been a dark cloud over our department," said Gray.

Last night, every officer on the police force attended a community prayer vigil, including the officer who brought the allegations to light.
Officer Myron Thomas says city worker Mark Perry gave him a book entitled "How to Understand the Negro Problem."
Thomas filed a complaint outlining months of racial discrimination within the department.
Since then there have been three resignations. The man who allegedly gave Thomas the book quit. 30-year veteran, George Bills left the force. Former Chief Mike Kendall resigned.

Chief Grays says there's some distrust in the community and over the next week he will personally hit the streets and talk to residents.
