Investigators are working to determine the cause of a large building fire in Mt. Sterling.
Officials there say they believe the recent storms may be to blame for sparking the intense fire late Sunday night.
The fire broke out on Owingsville Road where firefighters battled the flames into the morning hours as the building burned to the ground.
Officials say the building housed both a business and apartment. Luckily police say no one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
Firefighters from both Montgomery and Clark Counties responded to the call and battled the flames for hours.
Fire crews are still investigating the fire to determine if in fact lightning caused the fire.
