Temperatures across the state are falling and our brief taste of spring this weekend is turning back into some wintry weather.
Freezing temperatures are expected to roll in Monday and Tuesday night. A freezing warning is in effect for all of Kentucky. Much colder air moving in behind a departing cold front will result in temperatures dropping below freezing.
Below freezing temperatures are likely to extend into Wednesday morning. A strong cold front crossed the area Sunday night resulting in rain showers and thunderstorms.
As the frost approaches, Kentucky's farmers are scrambling to avoid losing out on this season's crops. Growers are having to get creative when it comes to saving their crops from the cold.
The state lost almost all of its peach crop two years ago to a similar spell.
