Plans are in place in Laurel County as funeral protesters plan to be near the funeral of a Kentucky National Guard solider.

The soldier is 29-year old Sergeant First Class Charles Jason Jones who died last week in Iraq. His funeral is this weekend in London.

This week, a federal judge temporarily suspended a new Kentucky law aimed at stopping protests near military funeral services.

The London funeral home has met with police to discuss how to handle the protesters.

Police are ready to help insure that the funeral proceeds without any distractions from honoring the lost soldier.
