Kentucky teen drivers will have to wait to get their license. Now that lawmakers have put the brakes on when teens can cruise the streets.

After teens get their learners permit, they are required to complete a four hour driver safety course before getting their full license.

Other restrictions on the intermediate drivers license include, not driving after midnight or before 6:00 a.m.

If any violations occur, the law states the teens six month probation period will start all over again.

The author of the new law that expands the state's graduated drivers licensing program is designed to save lives and give teens more experience behind the wheel.
