Police Warn Grocery Shoppers After Rash of Purse Thefts
Lexington police are on the lookout for a couple who is stealing purses from women's shopping carts.
In the past two weeks, five women have reported their purses stolen from their grocery carts.
Police say a man grabs the purse while the victim is loading groceries into her car or otherwise distracted -- then jumps into a get-away car driven by his female partner in crime.
The couple has hit Kroger grocery stores on Richmond Road and Bryan Station.
Police say the couple uses stolen credit cards at other stores.
