Mother, Child Killed In Two Car Collision

A deadly accident along a Madison County road. It happened Sunday evening about four miles outside Richmond on Kentucky 52 east.

Kentucky State Police say a Budget truck ran head-on into a Toyota Tacoma travelling in the opposite direction.

A mother and child, Dana and Avery Norris, were killed in the crash.
Another child, Alex Duncan, was transported to UK for medical treatment, where he's in serious condition. The father, James Norris, was also in the car. He's listed in fair condition.

The driver of the box truck, 19-year old Cordell Simpson suffered a leg injury and was transported to Pattie A. Clay. A passenger in his truck recieved multiple injurues and was airlifted to University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Police say the accident happend when the Budget truck and the Toyota Tacoma slammed into eachother head-on. The Toyota made an evasive attempt to avoid the truck, but just couldn't.

Avery Norris was pronounced dead at the scene. Dana Norris was prnounced dead later at the hospital.

Kentucky State Police are still investigating the accident at this time.
