A storm complex will affect our region again today. Expect scattered storms to pick up during the afternoon hours. Damaging winds, flooding and lightning are the main concerns as these storms roll through.
Meteorologists from the National Weather Service were in Lincoln and Pulaski counties Saturday to assess storm damage and to determine whether or not a tornado had in fact touched down in the region. They concluded that an EF1 tornado touched down in Lincoln County and an EF0 tornado touched down in Pulaski County.
The NWS meteorologists visit storm-ravaged communities to assess storm damage and speak with witnesses. Their hope is to relate their data to radar images in hopes that they can continue to improve on warning systems.
