Police say a black male walked into the bank at 11:41 Tuesday morning and immediately approached the tellers in an aggressive manner. They say the man then presented a note to a teller and demanded money. Police say the suspect did not show a weapon during the robbery.
The teller complied with the demands then the suspect fled on foot.
The suspect is described as an African American man with a very light complexion. He is approximately 6'0" in height and has a medium build. He was wearing a black knit cap with the letter "D" or "B" on it. He was dressed in a dark colored "hoodie" with a white shirt underneath.
Police also say the suspect has the Star of David tattoo under his right eye.
Lexington police were searching the area of East 7TH Street, near Winchester Road and 7th Street, where they believed the suspect was hiding. After closing off the area for sometime, the officer's search came up empty.
Lexington police say this bank robbery suspect is in no way connected to a shooting of a Lexington police officer.
