A fishing trip turned tragic Tuesday morning in eastern Kentucky.

State police say a man drown while trying to put his boat in Cave Run Lake in Rowan County.

Police say a 65-year-old Bill Johnson of Menifee County was backing his boat into the water when he lost control of his truck.

A friend told police Johnson yelled out his brakes were failing just before the truck went under. We're told Johnson climbed out of the truck, but couldn't make it out of the water.

Investigators say they will look at the truck's brakes to determine if that's what caused the truck to go into the water.
