Police in Jessamine County are investigating a school bus crash involving two elementary school students.
Officials with the Jessamine County Fire Department tells 27NEWSFIRST the bus overturned on Watts Mill Road, in the southern the part of the county.
Superintendent Lu Young says two female elementary students were on the bus when the bus crashed, ages 7 and 8. The two girls were checked out at the scene by EMTs and are okay.
We're told the bus driver hurt her left knee and was also checked at the scene by EMTs and left the scene on her own.
The driver told police she was coming down a hill at Watts Mill Road when a car approaching appeared to be slightly in her lane. The bus driver says she moved over and that's when the bus's tire went off the road.
She then over corrected and cross the road, hitting a stone wall causing the bus to overturn.
We're told this is the bus driver's first year driving with the school system, but she has no prior incidents.
