UK Police Investigate Thefts in Campus Stores

UK Police say that system of checks and balances, combined with an anonymous tip to police is what eventually uncovered an alleged crime.

Police say the tip led them to a criminal investigation of places like this, a warehouse for every store on the UK Campus.

UK Police said, "we don't know how far back it goes. What we're looking at is inappropriate use of funds as well as some missing equipment and items that were taken."

Although police won't comment on exactly what was stolen, they do say it wasn't money. What is for sure is that 3 employees with the University's Auxiliary Services have been suspended without pay.

Police say it's very possible that there may be arrests.

Auxiliary services deals with everything from campus housing, to maintenance and university stores.

UK Police and the university's internal audit are investigating the inventory thefts.
