Woman Convicted of Husband's Murder Denied Shock Probation

A woman convicted of murdering her husband back in 2000, was denied shock probation Thursday morning.

Barbara Sarabia is serving a 30-year prison sentence for the murder of her husband.

Prosecutors say Sarabia shot her husband eight times because she was upset that he had left her and didn't plan to return.

She says she now wants to start a new life.

The judge said a key factor in her decision not to grant shock probation, was that Sarabia's probation would have only lasted five years.
