Should Downtown Lexington Streets Be One Way or Two Way?

A report is due to some Lexington leaders in the next few weeks about the prospects of changing some one way streets downtown to two streets.

The proposal is one of many by the downtown development authority to make Lexington better in the future.

An analysis is expected to be released within the next 30 days that will reveal how two way streets will improve downtown congestion.

A transportation engineer says converting streets back to two-way is a trend being seen in cities throughout the country.

A recent poll question on WKYT.COM asked viewers what they thought. More than 44 percent of people who answered the poll want to keep one way streets, 55% say two way streets are the way for the future.
