COVINGTON, KY -- A northern Kentucky man has been found not guilty of killing his girlfriend's 1-year-old baby, reports the Kentucky Enquirer.
The Kentucky Enquirer reports a jury found 23-year-old Edward Arron Combs not guilty of murder, second-degree manslaughter or reckless homicide on Friday after he spent more than two years in jail.
Tristan Bowman died in a hospital emergency room on Oct. 20, 2006, from head injuries that caused the boy's brain to swell.
The Bowman's mother, 26-year-old Melissa Goodwin, previously pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal abuse.
Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney Rob Sanders recommended a 10-year sentence for Goodwin in exchange for her testimony against Combs.
