LOUISVILLE, KY -- A woman pedestrian died at University Hospital early Saturday from injuries she suffered when she and a male pedestrian were struck by a Jeep on the Ky. 329 Bypass in Oldham County Friday night, reports The Louisville Courier-Journal in its Sunday edition.
Oldham County Police said the two pedestrians were struck by a 2002 Jeep heading West on the Ky. 329 Bypass (Veterans Memorial Parkway) about 9:20 Friday night.
Both pedestrians were taken to University Hospital in Louisville. The female pedestrian died at approximately 1:55 a.m. Saturday. The male pedestrian is still listed in serious but stable condition.
Both pedestrians are from Crestwood. Police said the names would not be released until the next of kin are notified.
Oldham police said the driver of the Jeep, 19-year-old Samuel Mattingly of Louisville, was not injured in the accident.
The driver was not suspected of being under the influence and no charges have been filed, police said. The accident remains under investigation, reports The Louisville Courier-Journal.
