Teen Charged In School Break-In

Lexington Police didn't have to go far to find a suspected burglar early Monday morning.

Police say they found the suspect inside the school on Lafayette Parkway.

Police were called to SCAPA, Fayette County's School for the Creative and Performing Arts, just before 1:00 a.m. for an alarm.

Once there, officers found an open door and a 15-year-old boy inside.

Police aren't sure why the teen was inside the building or what his intent was.

Since he was there without permission, he's been charged with burglary.

Police say nothing inside the school was damaged or stolen.
