LONDON, Ky. (AP) - A Kentucky state trooper is recovering after
being accidentally shot while turkey hunting.
A state police spokesman said Trooper Jeremy Johnson is being
treated at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington,
where he was listed in good condition.
Police spokesman Don Trosper in London said Johnson is assigned
to the KSP post in Columbia. He was hunting with a friend, Mike
Garner, on a farm in Wayne County on Thursday when a turkey took
flight, passing between the two men.
Trosper said Garder fired and accidentally hit Johnson.
