EKU Breaks Ground On New Building

Eastern Kentucky University officials broke ground on a new science center on Friday morning.

The new 330,000 square foot building, on Kit Carson Drive, will be the university's largest building.

The state of the art science facility will be built in two phases: the building will not only house classrooms, labs, and offices, but also an atrium, aquatic pond, and greenhouse.

The first phase of the facility is expected to be ready by the spring 2011 semester.
