After more than a decade of service, a Lexington charity is finally getting a place of its own.
Friday morning, the Moveable Feast organization began demolition work on its new permanent home.
The building is located on Silver Maple Way at the corner of 5th Street.
Organizers say they've been relying on the generosity of local churches to provide their services and they're grateful to now have a place of their own to continue their important work in the community.
Over the past ten years, Moveable Feast has served 250,000 meals and delivered nearly 100,000 bags of groceries in Lexington.
