Today marked the last day of Keeneland's Spring meet. Beautiful weather and the draw of a mandatory pay-out nearly drew out a daily record number of people.
The Pick Six was not hit this past Thursday and therefore over $64,000 dollars carried over to Friday. Keeneland had a mandatory pay-out at the end of the day.
Jim Williams, Director of Communications at Keeneland, says, "Depending on how many winners we have, the sum will be divided. So, we could have one or we could have multiple winners."
Other than someone walking away with big bucks, Keeneland employees consider this meet a success. Opening day brought in the 5th largest crowd in the tracks 73-year period.
Total attendance through all of April skyrocketed above 240,000 making it the 3rd highest attendance of all time.
