Shoplifter Turns Himself In

More Video...

A southern Kentucky man accused in a violent shoplifting incident has been on the run for weeks, but today he turned himself in to police.

It was several weeks ago when Corbin police say a shoplifter tried to attack two employees and stepped on a customer's foot, breaking it.

Police say that man is Henry Paul Sizemore.

Sizemore turned himself in about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. His attorney says Sizemore called Monday to arrange his surrender and Tuesday again at 11:30 a.m.

He and his girlfriend came to the Corbin Police Department. Police won't comment on why Sizmore allegedly went to so much trouble to steal about $25 worth of products only to say it has something to do his with his past.

Police say Henry Paul Sizemore was tired of police looking for him and bothering his family. The reason he gave police, for turning himself in, was that he has very small children, an infant and 2 year old.

Sizemore didn't want police coming to where his children were. Police say a video that was broadcasted, resulted in people identifying the suspect.

We're told Sizemore has a criminal past. In 1997, he was convicted on burglary and persistent felony offender charges. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but he only served about three. He was released on parole in 2000.

Sizemore was taken to the Knox County holding facility. From there he will be taken to another jail, but we were not told which one.
