Wildfires continue raging through out the state.
As of Sunday there were around twenty fires burning in the Southeastern, Kentucky River and Eastern Kentucky Districts.
One of those fires is even shutting down a popular tourist destination in the Red River Gorge.
The area around Indian Staircase is now closed to the public. A spokesperson with the Daniel Boone National Forest says the Gorge is closed East of Highway 77 and North of Highway 715 to Lady Creek.
Officials say the fire is currently 175 acres... but could grow to a thousand acres over the next few days.
They say terrain is making it hard to fight the fire and that it won't be under control until later this week. For now the area is closed.
