Two Killed in Early Morning Fire

State police say two people died Thursday morning in a house fire in south-central Kentucky. The fire at 3:18 (central time) was in the Knifley community of Adair County. Coroner Rick Wilson is investigating.

27 NEWSFIRST has learned five people were in the home when the fire broke out. Three managed to get out but two did not. Family members at the scene have identified those victims as Todd Judd and Laurie Davis.

One of the men who escaped the burning home tells 27 NEWSFIRST the fire started when a man fell asleep, drunk, with a cigarette. The Adair Progress Newspaper tells 27 NEWSFIRST authorities have told them they're investigating the fire as arson.
