(AP) - The University of Kentucky's University
Senate has voted to support domestic-partner benefits for faculty
and staff.
Trustee Russ Williams says UK campus groups the Diversity
Commission and the Commission on Women also endorse
domestic-partner benefits.
The University Senate specifically said the benefits should be
for both same-sex and opposite-sex couples.
The UK board's human resources committee is expected to make a
recommendation on the issue early next year.
The University of Louisville board of trustees voted 14-to-1 in
July to give domestic-partner health benefits.
