Gas prices are back on the rise with the busy summer driving season approaching.
At some Central Kentucky gas stations, the price of regular unleaded fuel is over $2.00 a gallon, which is the first time time prices in Lexington have passed the $2.00 a gallon mark since November.
Looking nationwide, however, crude oil prices actually fell below $50 a barrel, with worries of swine flu expected to curtail travel.
AAA representatives say the demand for fuel this summer will dictate prices.
They say the average price of gas in Kentucky is currently $1.95 a gallon. At this time last year, it was $3.56 a gallon.
