Right around eleven Wednesday night Winchester Police say a drug deal went down right outside the jail. A tip led Winchester Police to hang out around the jail.

That's when they noticed a woman pulling up in a car. Then another appeared.

"They noticed Ms. Tipton walked to the car and something was handed to her," said Jailer Bobby Stone.

Ms. Tipton is Lisa Tipton, a deputy jailer. Police say she was on her way to work Wednesday night when she made the alleged drug deal.

Court documents show officers stopped the deputy jailer before she walked back inside the jail. Officers say Tipton was about smuggle marijuana and hydrocodone pills inside the jail to give to an inmate.

"I'm upset, dissappointed," said Stone.

"She works at the dentention center and she's doing this," said Sgt. Christie Ginter.

Tipton's co-workers says this tarnishes the badge they wear proudly.

"I'm ashamed to walk out here with my uniform in public because of what lisa tipton has done," said Janet Hayes, an employee at the jail.

Police say Tipton got the drugs from Vicki Barker. Barker's accused of supplying the pain killers and pot to her daughter, Misty Griggs. Griggs is an inmate. She's awaiting trial, accused in the deadly stabbing of a man earlier this year in Winchester.

According to court documents, Tipton told police she smuggled drugs into the jail previously for the inmate.
