A man serving time for shooting at southern Kentucky police is now on the run from the law. State prison officials say Kenneth Cribb was on work detail at a state police post in Frankfort when he got away.

The Department of Corrections says Kenneth Cribb walked away from work detail this morning. He's an inmate at the Frankfort Career and Development Center.

Cribb is serving a 20 year sentence for convictions out of Whitley County. Police say they caught Cribb stealing from vending machines at the Hal Rogers Water Park four years ago.

Police say Cribb fired an assault rifle. He pleaded guilty to attempted murder, burglary and other charges and was sentenced to 20 years, but just last year he was placed in a minimum security facility and Friday morning, he got away.

Cribb would have been eligible for parole in two years.

Cribb is described as a white man, 6'2" tall, 175 lbs. With grey hair and hazel eyes. If you know anything about his whereabouts, call Kentucky State Police at (502) 227-2221.
