Louisville Police Shoot Suspect to Death

A man was shot to death by Louisville Metro Police late Thursday night while they were answering a complaint about a methamphetamine lab.

Lieutenant Colonel Terri Winstead-Wilfong says the man opened fire on police outside a house in the Okalona area on the metro area's south side.

She says four officers were involved in the shooting.

Winstead-Wilfong says an active meth lab was discovered in a shed behind the house and drugs were being prepared at the time.

Three other people at the scene were taken into custody.

The spokeswoman says a police meth team was dismantling the lab with the help of the Okolona Fire Department. Health department officials are also on the scene.
