Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Shooting Wife in Face

CATLETTSBURG, Ky. (AP) - An eastern Kentucky man who shot his
wife in the face at an Ashland hospital parking garage was
sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Terry Horsely, 54, of Vanceburg, must serve at least 85 percent
of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole because the
shooting was a violent offense. A Boyd Circuit Court judge
sentenced Horsley on Friday.
Horsley pleaded guilty, but mentally ill to attempted murder and
three charges of wanton endangerment. He was accused of shooting
his wife, Cathy Horsley, 51, in January in an elevator at the
King's Daughters Medical Center parking garage. Three other people
were on the elevator and subdued Terry Horsley after the shooting.
During the sentencing, Horsley apologized for the shooting.
"I'd like for everyone to pray for me and God bless everyone,"
Horsley said.
Cathy Horsley and other family members agreed to the plea,
Commonwealth's Attorney J. Stewart Schneider said.
