A high school boys basketball coach is out of a job tonight and under investigation by police.

Williamsburg High School coach Rick Jones resigned over the weekend.
The superintendent would only say it was an administrative decision.

Williamsburg Police tell 27 NEWSFIRST there is an active criminal investigation involving Jones, but would not say what the focus of that investigation is.

Jones was the 1999 Kentucky Mister Basketball. He led Scott County to the 1998 Sweet 16 Championship. He played his freshman year at Vanderbilt before leaving because of academic reasons.

This was would have been Jone's first season as head coach at Williamsburg.
