Man Dies In Lexington House Fire

A 50 year old man is dead after a fire breaks out inside a Lexington home Monday morning.

Investigators say a sanitation worker was collecting recycling containers when he noticed smoke coming from a home on Hollyhill Drive Monday morning.

We're told when fire crews arrived to the home, they found the man unconscious inside.

Rescue crews rushed the man to UK Hospital were he was later pronounced dead.

Police say an arson investigation is underway. Investigators say it is routine for an arson investigation to be conducted anytime someone is injured in a fire.

At this time fire investigators have not confirmed what started the fire, but do say it appears it started in the home's back hallway.
