NJ hospital, others sued for losing baby's corpse

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - The mother of a dead infant whose body
was lost by a northern New Jersey hospital has filed a lawsuit
against the hospital, a number of its employees and an organ
recovery organization.

Christ Hospital and the Sharing Network were named in the
complaint filed Monday in Hudson County Superior Court. It says
26-year-old Kalynn Moore of Jersey City may never know what
happened to the corpse because of their carelessness, and may never
have the emotional closure she needs.

A weeklong search of dumps in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and
Kentucky failed to turn up the body in January. The hospital has
been fined $20,500 by state regulators.

Christ Hospital spokeswoman Barbara Davey says the facility has
taken steps to prevent a reoccurrence.
