Man Dead After Shooting in Corbin; Suspect Behind Bars

Knox County police found 35-year-old Anthony Goldsmith in his home Friday night with a gunshot wound. He was taken then to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A phone call came alerting police to the situation came in to the Knox County Dispatch around 11p.m. Friday night.

Sheriff's deputies, along with Kentucky State Police troopers and emergency medical services pesonnel, went to Goldsmith's home. Officials say they found Goldsmith with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Investigators have charged 33-year-old Marty Slone with murder.

Witnesses tell police they saw Slone flee on foot. Authorities were able to catch him.

Slone is being held in the Knox Detention Center.
