Prosecutor: Ohio felon charged in burned body case

SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) - Authorities have indicted an Ohio felon in
the death of a woman whose body was found severely burned in a
wildlife preserve.

Erie County Prosecutor Kevin Baxter says 50-year-old Timothy
Tyree of Sandusky was charged Thursday with aggravated murder,
aggravated arson, aggravated robbery and gross abuse of a corpse,
among other charges.

Baxter says Tyree was apprehended Wednesday near Whitesburg, Ky.
in a van police believe belonged to the victim. The Erie County
Sheriff's office has requested Tyree be extradited to Ohio.
Authorities say he was convicted of felonious assault and other
crimes.

Charlotte Evans' body was found Monday next to a pond at the
Resthaven Wildlife Area near Castalia, about 45 miles southeast of
Toledo. Investigators say she suffered a blow to the head.
