An eastern Kentucky Fire Chief was to called out to a house fire that turned out to be his own.

The fire started at about 9:30 in the morning in Bath County. Crews were called to Coyle Street after a neighbor spotted smoke coming from the attic.

Owingsville Fire Chief Darrell King and his family live in the house. Fire fighters were able to knock the fire out within 5 minutes of arriving.

No one was home at the time of the fire. EMS crews were called to the scene to treat the fire chief, who began suffering from chest pains. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but fire officials believe it may have been electrical.
