Rounds of showers and thunderstorms continue to develop. These are packed with lightning and torrential rains. A few storms may produce high winds and small hail.
A violent crash early Friday morning in Richmond has a 29-year-old woman facing charges.
The crash happened around 2 a.m. at the intersection of the Bypass and Red House Road.
Police say 29-year-old LaVasha Thomas of Richmond was driving a 1997 Cadillac and going north in the southbound lane.
Police say Thomas hit another vehicle, a Ford Explorer, driven by 26-year-old Miranda Riley of Irvine, causing Riley's vehicle to overturn.
The driver that police say caused the accident, LaVasha Thomas was taken to the hospital, as well as the occupants in the other vehicles.
All were treated and released.
Police say Thomas was cited and charged with having no insurance, having false plates, wanton endangerment, DUI, and falsely reporting an incident to police.
They say she initially told them she was the passenger of the car and not the driver.
LaVasha Thomas was not arrested but was given a court date where she will appear before a judge to face these charges.
