Retailers Offer Discounted Prescription Drug Program

Updated: Wed 12:30 AM, Oct 25, 2006

With the high-cost of prescription drugs, some major retailers are hoping they can help out.

Just last week, Wal-Mart announced a new discount generic drug program -- certain drugs will be sold for just four dollars. But, so far, that deal hasn't reached the bluegrass.

However, some Kentucky Meijer stores are getting in on the action -- saying they could beat Wal-Mart's deal. The retailer is offering a generic drug program offering some oral antibiotics. Some of the drugs are even free!

Target also offers a discounted generic drug program -- but right now, it's not available at its Kentucky stores. K-Mart sells generic drugs for around $15.
