Chrysler dealerships across the country learned Thursday whether or not they'll remain open. Several Kentucky car dealers are on the chopping block.
Chrysler says it needs to eliminate about a quarter of its 3,200 dealerships in order to account for slumping sales.
Several Kentucky dealerships were notified that they'll have to shut down in the coming weeks. Here is the list:
Brown's Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge in Paintsville
Drake Chevrolet-Olds-Pontiac in Monticello
Epp's Chevrolet Company in Middlesboro
Lee Motors in Pineville
Ray's Ford-Mercury in Brandenburg
Zimmer Motor in Florence
Matt Montgomery, Inc.in Mt. Washington
Neil Huffman Enterprises in Louisville
Chrysler dealerships aren't the only ones scheduled to get bad news this week. General Motors Corp. says it is notifying 1,100 dealers that it will not renew their franchise agreements when they
expire at the end of September of 2010.
