Governor Steve Beshear met with democratic house leaders on Thursday to discuss legislation that would allow video gambling, at racetracks in Kentucky.
The idea is to boost the state's ailing horse industry.
Beshear met with house speaker Greg Stumbo and state representative Larry Clark, both democrats, about proposed legislation at the governor's office.
No decisions were made, but Beshear says the state must help Kentucky's horse racing industry become more competitive with other states.
Just this week, Churchill Downs cut race days and decreased purses, citing financial troubles.
