The bodies of a mother, father and their two young children may soon give us clues about exactly how they died.

Police in Menifee County are still saying it appears to be a murder-suicide.

It's been less than 24 hours since the Menifee County Sheriff's Department and Kentucky State Police were called to a home. That's where they found Brian and Jeanie "Christy" Purvis along with her two young children shot to death.

The Menifee Sheriff says, "we're not looking for any outside shooter we believe the shooter was in the home."

Police tell 27 NEWSFIRST the family had lived in their house for only a month, but had been residents of Menifee County for several years.
The sheriff says he knew the Purvis family personally, but had no reason to believe there were any problems.

The sheriff says, "in all the years I've been in office this has been the toughest thing I've ever had to deal with."
