Friends And Family Say Goodbye to Kentucky Marine Killed In Iraq

Funeral arrangements for a Kentucky marine who died in Iraq have now been set.

Visitation was well underway Thursday afternoon for 21-year old Lance Corporal John Thornsberry. It started at 11:00 a.m. at Little Rosa Regular Baptist Church at McDowell. The funeral is scheduled for Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Thornsberry had been in Iraq for just 26 days before his death. The Floyd County native and another marine died when their Humvee hit a roadside bomb.

Thornsberry leaves behind a wife and a two year old daughter.
