Mother Claims She Was Attacked After Elementary Basketball Game

Video will be available shortly

An elementary school basketball game is not a place you'd expect to encounter violence, but the mother of a young Jackson County player claims she was attacked by the parents of a player on the other team.

The woman says it all began with some poor sportsmanship Tuesday night after a game between Tyner Elementary and McKee Elementary.

Millie Madden says another parent called her nine year old daughter names after Tuesday's game and that's when things turned violent.

Madden says she tried to walk away but a woman hit her and she defended herself.

Jeremy and Michelle Tankersley were arrested and charged with assault. The two were released on bond.

The Jackson County Board of says both sets of parents have been banned from school activities.
