PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Governor Fletcher's appointees to the Kentucky Supreme Court faced tough competition Tuesday night, with
one barely taking a lead and another falling behind to a liberal
challenger.
William E. McAnulty edged out Jefferson County Circuit Judge Ann O'Malley Shake with nearly one-hundred-thousand votes with 96 percent of polls reporting. Shake had almost 92-thousand
votes.
Conservative appointee John Roach fell to the more liberal
Fayette Court Judge Mary Noble in the Lexington-area district.
Early results put Noble ahead with 61 percent of the vote.
